HOLY A DX PLAYER BELOW ME :O
Actually, this reminds me nothing much of DXMP, nor DX (Sorry if nobody knows what that game is.)

This has an energetic swing to it. Much love <3

My Review

As requested, I will review this piece for you.

Intro

First off, I'm digging the frequencies used on your kick... rides nice n smooth through my Altec Lansing speakers. Bass blows really nice with it.

The bass is nice n crisp, digging that too, thing I like, is that the bass is distinguishable from the actual kick itself. Thats good.

Decent job with the EQ.

Could do with a shorter introduction / entry toward the breakdown. But I like the way that you enter the breakdown by smoothing up your song by releasing the sounds one by one.

Onto the Breakdown

Harmonic, Good use in volume levels with the primary lead... even tho it scared the shit outa me - could be lowered a bit, then brought progressively louder, instead of scaring the listener.
What I would do, instead of introducing all of the primary chords right away, I'd start with something more harmonic, like a sine, bells, or something else that sounds good with a pad that increases overall relaxation in the listener. Start by introducing some keys, then work your way up with the volume.
You should be revealing all of the keys in your release, or right before it, giving the climax point.
I found the breakdown to be not much of an attention grabber, but more of a transition. Breakdowns are critical in trance, it just makes it sound better when chords are built upon other cords, with a nice soothing pad in the background if you get my idea.

Release

Your release is somewhat... climactic in a way. It does have a bit of energy to it, but due to the fact the same keys, and same sound was played in both this part, and the breakdown, it lost potential energy that, in my opinion, would make this song better.
Your exit toward the end of the song (calming the mood down), was decent. I like your choice in body, bringing the melody back once again for a second strike.
Bass kicks in, nice, time for the song to progress toward the end.

End

Similar sounds that I heard in the beginning, similar patterns. Good.
I like this.

OVERALL. And Advice

In my opinion, if you were to make your own trance song, (and Im going to mention this anyway because it is pretty important, and it makes any song not so repeatative), is to give your song some original transitions.
When I say transitions, I dont mean like upbuilds n downbuilds, I mean like changing the pattern say, every 16 bars, just to give some extra kick.
What I do, is I've been learning to play with transitions, and for a whole 4 bars, I'll mute almost every percussion that is playing, then re-arrange my kick to the very last few bars of the 4, to make it have the sort of feeling that something is about to come up.
After a transition, A new percussion, or a new sound / lead generally should arrise from the blue. Instead of making it come out of nowhere without a transition, it seems to flow better with one.
Just a thought!

I'd get you to review some of my songs, but I havent been able to work on many, because I don't have my personal computer until my family gets back from vacation. Shame :P
Keep it up~ Patrick Marshall

that is seriously one hell of a review dude :)
i really like how you can explain ANY detail this remix include. i respect that.

as for the WHOLE review, i shall take the usefull pointers out, and take it to a final
" Release " of this remix, and make a preview [once again] for the NG listeners.

and just to make something claer; yes, i also scared the hell outta myself with that blasting lead in the breakdown XD
-no explaination needed :) im gonna fix it.

Cmon lol...

...This is hiphop, not trance.
To have a little bit more of a criticizing review that ISNT pointless, I'm just gonna say I didnt enjoy this, simply because most of the sounds in this song did NOT go together as a matter of chord playing.
I admit, the opening synth WAS catchy, but the it just got repetitive and very annoying.

Majestic Chords..

I can so picture a climax building.. but.. oh my friend, I could put a feeling unlike no other on this song... an emotion unlike no other.
All inside my head, I feel it. The very chords that bind this masterpiece together can be again rebuild, mentally tainting the minds of millions of people...
I can see this being up in lights, Armada taking hold of this piece after some fixes, a clean structure retake, a climax, leaving every human being who knows what music is, with the feeling of awe in their head!!

You should see what this piece can do, it can go somewhere. If you wish, I will be as best help as i can if you want to take the time to PM me.
Best of luck with this piece, may it take you to a place never seen by anybody on newgrounds.

May it become, More than just an Audio portal favourite.. remember that !

hmmm... i guess it could take a bit more work now that you mention it. Sure il give it a go =D thanks man

Hmm

A little overboard below me, but welcome to newgrounds.

To start out positive: I like the intro of this song. It gives great potential to what the full song can be. It's both peacefull, and "headbangable".

However on the suggestion side: The song never built up and had a climax like I was expecting. You almost had it when you snare rolled @ 4:20, but it was still as same energy as it was before.
A punchier kick would be better as well.

Keep it up!!!

I agree with you man. Unlike the butthurt scrub below you, you at least explained the pros and cons. But honestly i don't want to say that this song deserves to be in the top 5 because it doesn't. The audio portal becomes a fury of fecal matter prior to the decision. It was luck that got my song up here. Alot of artists go unnoticed. They put there song up and little children like the little fetus below me 0 it to get their ratings up. But there really isnt anything you can do about it. I like making music whether its doo doo or not. I make music fo fun bra. But yea i gotta work on meh build ups. Ill get there eventually haha. Thanks for the constructive criticism. :)

Love that intro

I really love how the beggining was so harmonic!!
If i was on any drug, that would definitely take me to places I could not possibly immagine!! Just because of that, I am downloading this :P

Could use a little more variety throughout the song however, like climax points, etc. & make it longer! :P

Also, check out some of my songs if you get the chance, I need some artist friendly reviews and opinions to see if I'm on the right track!! :P

Potential

I see major potential in all of your work.. even though most of the songs right now sound a little off key, I'm keeping my eye on you! :P
Don't let me down, keep improving!

7/10 for Effort
5/5 for 100% against bombing :)

Check out some of my trance songs if you wish!! :)

Interesting

I have not yet heard a trance song quite like this before :P
It's both Harmonic, yet somewhat energetic at the same time

I like the way you build up your primary lead at 3:30 +

Great atmosphere, Vocals sorta work with this.. but They're sorta strange :P

AH, listening to the vocals i see now that they match the title..

Bass is well layed out, letsthe feeling of the song run smoothly.

Overall, I enjoyed this song, I'd recommend some more noticable claps / snares. (more louder, Not sure if there are any in this song, from what I can tell there are none :P)

Keep it up~ Absolix # 1 Trance Inspired!!

& check out some of my trance tracks when you get the chance too :)

syphonmax responds:

The claps and snares part is not so noticeable because of the sound quality the song is posted at.

But I am glad you like you liked it

If only i could compare

Looking back at a review i wrote, i was strictly overtaken by a set of rules describing the definition of trance.

Now looking at this, along with that, I realize that trance is not just a genre... it's a deep down, well thought song of emotions, ready to revitalize all who are willing to accept it, and hold it tightly never to let go. trance keeps me going.
The word trance, means to me, INSPIRATION.

That my friend, is what trance is. And Trance my friend, is what truly this is.
Great work, you have inspired me to work my way up this graph of self achievement... I now look at trance a new way.. maybe now I can finally get some results creating such wonderful music!

~Absolix. - # 1 Trance Inspired

I enjoy making Trance music, and I also enjoy criticizing other peoples trance music that is in dire need of a helping hand.
